Anybody have a spare working mainboard for an MA-1400?

Have replaced almost every component on mine and cannot find the fault.

Thanks

Hi,
What is the symptom with your machine?
I may be able to help. I have worked on some of the MA1400 series before.

Ps, we have contacted our supplier about the other manuals you requested. They should be up on the site soon

Kind regards,

Many thanks John,

The MA-1400 board won't respond to a RAM clear (blind, 39, power on).
Suspect that the board has either a broken track or the CPU/ROM or RAM has a major fault.
Printer works on a Data Clear or Status Clear, but prints plenty garbled letters instead of the expected confirmation.
Have never seen this happen before, so best would be to source a replacement machine or board - not sure.

Manuals:

Great, thank you.
Just to summarise, these are the manuals I'm looking for:
- TEC MA-141-200 parts manual
- TEC MA-141-200 modification manual
- TEC MA-141-200 schematic and logic manual
- TEC MA-1040-200 parts manual
- TEC MA-1040-200 schematic and logic manual

Would you know if there are manuals available for the MA-141 printer, the MA-1050 printer as well as a programming manual for the MA-1050?
I don't see any listed.

Thanks

Hmm. It does sound like it isn't able to clear memory cells.
I've had corroded PCB traces due to bad battery. Look for damaged pcb traces first. RAM is usually very reliable.

The first manual has arrived from our supplier. Due to the virus, evrything has slowed down. We should receive the others shortly

Thanks John,

Well, I'm going to have to go through the board piece by piece, component by component.
I have a feeling you will be right, there could be a broken track somewhere or a dry solder joint.
I see that the one transistor nearest the connector plug for drawer 1 has burnt out, so the board could have had a short go through it too.
All that happens now is the main power transistor heats up and starts to smoke within seconds, even with nothing connected to it.
If you then connect keyboard, printer and displays, on power up, the printer's paper feed solenoids pull in and stay pulled in but there is no display or print motor cycling which it should do, yet the entire printer has been completely serviced with a brand new motor.
So there is definitely something very wrong somewhere.

Manuals:
Great, thank you, I'll wait until they are all in and then put them all in my cart for purchase.

Regards,
Kevin

Hi John,

Any developments on the other TEC manuals I wanted?
The 2 that came in earlier I have already bought, just wondering about the rest.

Thanks

I'll contact the suupplier again and hurry them up. We are down to half the amount of suppliers due to Covid shut downs and slow deliveries.
Will let you know shortly.

John
